on a funny note: scrub your rims real good, and soak them in some "road-salt water"..that nasty stuff will eat thru anything. once water eats away the chrome, you'll be all set..

i understand the need to be anal about removing away all tiny bits that would still remain after sandblasting-but since you'll be getting your rims painted/powdercoated, a good primer should hide away most blemishes. if any do show thru, you wouldnt notice them unless you are sitting next to your wheels with the whole intention of finding imperfections.
