Mine is a razr v3. I noticed the first time i set it up it takes a few minutes before I can access the in-car phone book. But on subsequent connections I can access the phone book right away. It almost seems as if the car caches the phone book in its memory upon the 1st connection. I'll experiment some more.

As usual all of the compatibility requiremnts probably come into play (progman 20+, RAZR firmware 40+ etc... see my replies in other threads for more details.
Yes the phonebook stays in the car, and is available soon after boot, but it will sync with the phone which may take a while to complete after conection. Hence changes may not be available for a few mins after phone connection to the car.
