Changing the color on the car will affect resale value, especially one that is the polar opposite. Because no matter how legitimate the repaint may be, people will always question it, and the lowball offers will start to roll out.

As what others have stated, the only way to do it right is to strip the car completely and re-shoot everything. Both black and white are easy colors to sell, as they're fairly popular. I would say get it repainted with the same color, then sell it. Take pictures of the damages, so that you have proof when the buyer asks why it was repainted. I know I would want to see proof.
