Living in Memphis, I have made the trek up there a few times. They have the Country Music Hall of Fame combined with a tour of RCA Studio B. It is a must for any music fan.

They also have a lot of bars, so the "drink a lot" comment should be easy enough to do.

Opry Mills is a huge mall that many like to visit when they are in Nashville. It is close enough to walk to Opryland Hotel which usually has some activity going on. To be honest, I think it is a better city to visit in the fall/winter, but you should be able to find a few things to do. It really depends on what you like.

If you get real bored, you can make the trip down to Memphis, catch a Grizzlies game, drink to some blues on Beale Street, see Elvis, and watch the ducks before crashing at the Peabody hotel.
