BMW hasn't issued a "Recall", they have not contacted me or made me aware of any problem with the car, unless they do I'm not taking my car into BMW.

Same applies if BMW writes to you (have a laugh).
Rest up to you, whether you know this or not, whether you watched the BBC watchdog or not, whether you were proactive enough or not.
