I agree...I am a fan of the Nite-shades product... used it a lot on my previous cars to tint a bunch of different lights.
That product works great if your taping off sections or trying to do brakelight logos, etc...
I contemplated doing this as well (on the clear portion of the decklid lamps only) but ended up just ordering Blacklines. Looks like you did a nice job though.
