Just had my first problem with, what I assumed, the HPFP.
I was driving down the freeway and as I tried to accelerate, the car felt like it was lacking power. A few minutes later, my "Service" light came on. The car then started stutter so I got off the first exit and parked it on the green exit median. As I was exiting, there was a smoke coming out of the tailpipes. The car was idling at about 500 rpm.
It has now been towed and will be at the service center tomorrow morning.
My car is a 2009 335i convertible with just a tad over 10,000 miles.
My HPFP was replace during the recent recall. I had no problems with it before.
Is this typical of a HPFP problem?
