I had the engine light come on while driving one day, stressed me out... then it went out a couple hundred K's later... then came on et.al...
Had the codes read while I was in Sydney and got the P0597 code, same as you...
Turns out, the connectors on the thermostat heater can go a little soft and don't grip the pins as hard as they should. I simply unplugged the connector from the back of the thermostat heater and re-plugged it a couple times... viola, cleared the codes and never had the problem re-appear.
