I know this is an old thread, but to avoid starting a new thread.. was this issue ever solved?
Car is a 2008 135i, 42k miles.
I have the same issue, misfire between 2 to 3.5k ish, but will not throw a misfire code.
New OEM plugs made no difference.
Car is under warranty in the UK, however BMW have advised that they cannot detect any fault codes so therefore cannot request authorisation to proceed with warranty work.
