Anyway I have now picked the car up and all appears to be resolved.
A full software update was carried out and the final bill came to £370 all in, including diagnostics. All in all its not a bad ending I guess.
Only 1 thing I noticed after leaving the dealers is my service remaining is now 4000miles whereas before it was 10000miles ???

may sound like daft question but they havent by any chance been on a 6000 mile joy ride in it have they??
