This will be good for BMW re their average fuel economy figures, good for the environment, and very good for people who like cars and love to drive. There will be BMWs at lower price points to allow more buyers to enter bmws at a younger age and buy into the brand and become fanboy&girls for life because they will still be drivers' cars. The biggest plus for car nuts is that they will allow bmw to continue to make powerful drivers' cars for those of us who are stuck on their in-line sixes, and pumped up V8s. Can't really see anything to moan about on this one.
