I didn't mod mine that quickly but I agree about the BS break-in procedures. Beat the SNOT out of the car to force the rings to make tighter seals against the cylinder walls and you'll have a higher compression testing car down the road.
That being said, be gentle on the clutch, just give it the beans when you're fully in gear.
My 335 eats very little oil. It went 13,000 miles with no measurable change in engine oil level.
