You will have seen them, you just can't tell.

On all LCI Bi-xenons, the inner two 'spot' lamps are either dummy lights if you don't have adaptives, or they are corner lights if you do have adaptives.

The main/dip beam is only ever the outer single xenon, unlike pre-LCI where the inner light was the halogen main beam.

But back to your question, now we live in the sticks with no street lighting, yes they are very useful, when you slow to turn left or right they light up direclty to the side the verge/footpath/potholes/dead badgers etc so you avoid things you might otherwise hit.
