If it hasn't greened up from this recent rain, it may be dead. Have seen this quite a bit in my neighborhood (luckily not in my yard), large dead spots while rest of grass is green and healthy. Not sure what causes it, maybe grubs or something killing the roots.
Agree with express, lay down new grass, but find out and fix what caused the problem first.
