Thin silicone grease is very different to a silicone spray or polish that contains silicone btw.
And it wont make anything squeek, far from it.
I use it on mine and have used it on all my cars, especially good on the folding roofs.

The Honda equivalent is Shin-Etsu grease, and is definately silicone grease.
As I said in post #2, BMW are not recommending Gummi-Pfelge to cure this problem - my service manager advised me not to apply it, and to book it in for them to apply their newer alternative.

I will find out what was used on mine last week, I can't remember the name they said now, but think it's the same as Mallard is recommending. It does leave a vaseline type coating on the rubbers - my car has been transformed and is now creak free
