Ok so I got my TINY little sample. Looks very promising. It seems very pliable and easy to work with. I am sure the 3M adhesive that comes with it does a great job as I've work with it before, but have not tested sticking this to anything just yet.
Attached are photos of the glossy veneer. Beautiful - crystal clear. Unfortunately the weave is different from the OEM carbon fiber parts, but I doubt anyone would notice.
The last 2 photos are of the matte finish. Difference is far less noticeable than I thought. The matte finish does seem easier to work with as it flexes and bends much easier.
Stuff is extremely thin as you can see in the photo of it on my desk.
Now how would one go about cutting this stuff so that the edges are nice and finished?
