I have the RS1 and JRZ actually recommends the Ground Control plates. I have them in my car and they're beautiful. The extra camber is a great handling asset on the track.

Not required, no, but the problem with our front suspension (MacPhearson strut) is that the camber is not adjustable beyond fractions of a degree (aka nothing more than necessary to keep it within spec). This is as opposed to a multi-link suspension, for example, where the camber is adjustable. Behind good tires, increasing camber is the best way to improve grip with our cars.
