Sucks. Did you try talk to the golf course about it? They certainly wouldn't be obligated to help you out, but you never know.
My parents live across from a golf course. This happened to my '84 prelude way back in the day. I went and talked to the manager at the course and they helped pay. Seems to me they covered my deductible, but it was so long ago I can't remember the details.
