Quite agree TBH.
I know this won't go down well but I dont consider an M3 a huge step up in performance to my 340BHP 335d but having said that the figures stack up for a brand new warranted M3.
GTR - I have to fund from day one & will probably loose £10k in the 1st year (the way petrol prices are going) One guy on the GTR forum (as do many others) do a spread sheet & the figures are very very frightening for the GTR for ownerships costs. They will make you look twice in disbelief. I'll see if I can find them..... Had a look but cant find it.
IIRC it was something like £27k for the 1st year.. All done on a spread sheet & I didn't belive it at 1st.

but I think he did 20k miles which I wouldn't & you can get tyres for a grand a set & not the 2k he paid.
