Thes will also be attenuation, all be it quite small, from the glass and panels at 200Mhz.
I still don't understand how my magnetic aerial works so well when it is stuck upside down in the boot!!!!!! Well I say "well" but it still drops out far to often.

DabOnWheels have got an external window mount aerial that they say is very good.
