Changing your license plate? Possible?

Hey,

I had asked my dealer to get me 088 on my plate, and of course, he didnt! LOL

Just wondering if it's possible to get a new plate on your car and how complicated it is...

What do I need to do?

Dont worry, I did try to get an answer on the google

go to the SAAQ and pay for another one.

In Ontario you go to the Ministry of Transportation and just pay $20 for a new plate. They will go through the stack of plates and get you the one with the 088 on it if you request it. As easy as that.

however i have to tell you that sometimes certain numbers are not available at a particular time. so call SAAQ to see if they can do that number.

btw you asian ? haha cos i am asian and i know lots of asian friends with numbers 8 in their plates.

If you tell them that your plate was stolen they won't issue you a new one until you file a police report.

Haha, no I'm not asian, I've heard many times though that asians always take the 8's as it's their lucky number.

I want 088 because it's my hockey number. Wore it my whole life and still wear it.

I'll give the SAAQ a call.

Do you know the charges for it?

Since i've already paid for the registration, will they charge me again that stupid 260$? Or just charge me the fee for the plate and change the paper work?

Hmm... can you not just order a personalized plate in Que. like you can in Ontario?

Naw, we dont have that here...
But the good side is that I dont have to make holes in my front bumper for a plate! :-)

not sure bout the charges but its a small fee for a replacement plate. you wont have to pay the whole registration fee again.
