Road trip to pick up your bimmer?? post pics
Thought this would be a cool thread. Post pics of your road trip to pick up your car.
I drove out to Kansas City, MO from Detroit in my friends 68 Cougar. Driving in that car for 11 hours took its toll on me. But how often do you get to pick up a bmw in a classic Cougar? Excuse the front bumper on the Cougar's roof. |

I don't have a great story to tell about purchasing my BMW since it was a local dealer but I did have a great trip to pick up my motorcycle (Ducati 848). I flew up to Rochester, NY from Boston, MA with my full one-piece leathers and helmet in hand with me wearing my boots onto the place. When I landed in Rochester, NT, the seller picked me up at the airport and brought me back to his place where we finalized the transaction and I got in my gear and rode 6 hours back to Boston, MA. Some say the Ducati is a horrible for long distances but I had a huge grill the entire ride home. Bright sunshine and 70 degrees...couldn't have been better weather.

9 hours of down pour through the Pennsylvania mountains back to Detroit. Started the day with a 3am flight to Philly to get her and ended with a 3am return... Decent way to bond haha
I just wish I'd been awake enough at 1am ish on the Ohio turnpike to get the damn accord out of this photo.

My trip to pickup my car was not as long as yours, but I picked up mine at Orlando from Tampa. I made my dad drive back from Orlando my 4x4 Suzuki Grand Vitara who is being retired back to the Dominican republic since 2002 and the last time he drove a car in USA was back when he used to live in NY. When driving back to Tampa I forgot he was following me and stepped on the gas with all the excitement I had when I realized he was wayyyyy back almost lost him I waited from him and when he approached he wanted to shoot me It was my first good push in the BMW

I had quite the road trip picking up my car. Took a bus from Toronto to Wilmington, Delaware. About 16 hours in total. Once I finally got to the dealer and saw that beautiful beast it made it all worth it. The drive home through some hills in Pennsylvania was outstanding. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Here's a pic of it at the dealer.

I took a 6 AM flight from St. Louis to Cleveland, picked up my Z4 and drove it back 9 hours... all in the same day.
It doesn't look anything like this now though! http://e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=917535

Back in the day I flew from Chicago to Houston to get my 2003 325 CI that I used to own. Drove it back, made a detour to New Orleans for a night and drove it all the way back up to Chicago. Trading in my 325 for a 335 was not so eventful, went to the dealer down the street and made the deal.

Oh man, I picked up my 135i from Seattle to LA. It was a fun drive, but i wish i had someone to go with me. I had to make multiple stops to pop those 5 hours energy drinks and try to talk to someone. It's hard to not talk for almost 22 hours. haha. I would totally do it again!
