My 335d Build Thread
Thought id make a build thread like everyone else and start it now before i get to far ahead of myself
bought my car back in april and have loved it, its a 335d m sport and fully loaded gorgeous looking car as standard but like anything want to put my own touches to it so it looks smart and turns a few heads so here goes.... heres what the car looked like when i bought it.... i have put personal plates on it now and also fitted led angel eyes. at the moment my wheels are being powder coated in an anthercite and i should be getting them back tomoro, for now my car is sat on a spare set of E46 M3 wheels of my dads the front sit in a good inch and a half more then the standard wheels and look terrible but the rears sit nearly perfect and are the look i want once i get my wheels back and i can work out what size spacers i need, they wont be able to sit as far out as the M3 wheels because with abit of weight in the boot they will rub, but along these lines is the look i would like. ive also fitted some glass black grills will take pictures of these once my wheels are back on and keep this updated thanks UPDATE 12.8.2012 Update: got my black grills fitted gives it alot meaner look very pleased with the final result.. ordered my carbon badges for my wheels when i get them back and got the bonnet and boot and steering wheel badge all to match Wheels are finally back from powder coating and looking great so its fitting time bit of copper slip to keep the wheels n hub from sticking again lol heres the wheels on few shoots of the whole car all badges on even new black M tech badges on the wheels comments welcome thanks Last edited by Tyso335; 08-12-2012 at 12:51 PM.. |

It's exciting - a long project.. otherwise no fun if everything is done in a week lol. Well for some it can be and fair do's but I find it more exciting to shop around for things, get a good deal... etc etc!
I do have one but haven't done much as been waiting to decide what to do and finally getting some headway so will make another thread. The last one I made i did so with the intention of sticking to that so might just do so but the 1st 2 pages are filled with more comments than pics LOL.. Bugger it, i'll start a new one and stick to that lol. About to post up pics of the LED license plate so have a look if you like :-) |

Yeah you're referring to the Eibach ones? I would have had those in a jiffy but already got a set coming through soon from another forum member. Those EIBACHS are a steal at that price lol but totally understand about the dosh! Slowly does it.

Yeah Eibachs offer a good drop 35 - 60mm I think and those ones advertised are applicable to our 335D's. Only thing is that where BC coilovers (what I'm getting) which are about £700 max Brand New come with everything you need (including camber plates), you'll have to go out and buy your own ones if you get the Eibachs etc. KW however lie in the same boat with BCs in which they come with ready made good to go camber plates...someone correct me if i'm wrong tho... KWs however are more expensive although they generally are the preferred choice for many people who can afford top dosh.. from KW v1s from £800 to KW V2s £1100 or so etc..V3s would be a straight overkill unless u go heavy track days..
If you're in no rush and can wait... do some more research. I guess I made a hasty decision to buy those BC coils but luckily did a lot of research beforhand... if they weren't at that price, I probably would have held off buying until next year but couldn't resist LOL. Stick to BC, Eibach, KW, Bilstein etc etc. Other brands may attract you price wise, but may not perform as well but again, all down to the end user :-) |

to be honest mate i was goin to buy some fk coilover for £250 off ebay new.......hahahaha i think not......
yeh ive been looking at kw's and if im buying new thats what i will go for and the v2 kit aswel because they come with the camber adjustment which i may need if i go for wider wheels but ive got plenty of time before i go for some. what do you think of the csl boot? do they only sell them in carbon fibre? |

Sorry mate just saw this now.. I'm not bought by the CSL bootlid but that's me.. I'd be much ahppier with a nice Rear Spoiler and call it a day.. Subtle but enought to make heads turn
You'll have to check up on the CF bit unfortunately - I've never looked into it so haven't done research but worth knowing though! :P |

I was lucky and bought my bootlid of a forum member. Mstyle sell them although I'm not to sure how good the fitment is.
I prefer the amuse ericsson type bootlid but not to sure how it will look on a non M as its a little bit more aggressive looking.
