Volume lowers automatically ???
Is it just my imagination or does the volume of the stereo in E90 lowers as you approach the stop? If I play a song on high volume while driving normal speeds (65 mph for example), and when I hit the break for the red light and stop, the volume seems to lower a tad. Is it just me or does that actually happen in E90? Did anyone else experience that?
P.S. No, I’m not smoking anything, at least not lately… |

It's adjustable on his 06 325i, too (and all years in between).

The speed-adjusting volume control has been a feature since 2004, I believe.
The baseline is the volume you set manually. When you accelerate, the system will increase the volume to compensate for engine noise. Then, when you slow down, it lowers the volume to the original setting. There is a way to set the volume increment step, but I not sure how. I have never bothered with it. Pretty cool! |

it's called Speed Volume
If you're going 65 and floor it and hit 80-90 it'll get louder/speed up (however you want to describe it)

This feature is used to exemplify the necessity of good and precise programming in schools. When you step hard on your break pedal it's of course imperative that the programming is set to first engage the breaks on the car, and not to lower the volume of the stereo.
