Can I do the CDV delete?

I am planning to do the CDV delete this weekend, but I would like to do it for free so I do not have to buy the CDV mod (which I do not need anyhow since the car is out of warranty) or the power brake bleeder and brake fluid.

I know this can be done by just bleeding the clutch without adding fluid, but my question is do I have enough fluid in the system already?

I'm attaching pictures (taken with phone) for you guys to judge my situation. By the way, the fluid was changed last year under the maintenance plan.

I may as well ask this while creating this post, can anyone give me some advice for bleeding the clutch? I know the essentials, open valve > depress clutch, close valve > release clutch > repeat until no more air is exiting, but more information would be appreciated.

Edit: I am so sorry for the size of these photos. I did not think pictures from my phone would end up like this.

I'm not sure that we have enough pictures.

You should really be looking at the Min & Max markings. Regardless of that, I'd always have a little extra fluid to top off. Getting too low and sucking air is not a good thing. So I like to have extra rather than too little.

Check the Min & Max markings, if your at Max or just below go for it but watch it. Any lower and I'd get more fluid.

P.S. I think your asking in the wrong section since this isn't a guide your posting.

I'm sorry about the numerous photos.

How do I delete a post? I hit the edit/delete post since this is the wrong section but I cannot find anything to delete, just editing.

If you have an XI like me, you can pretty much forget doing this mod yourself.

I know, the extra drive shaft or whatever that is. My friend is helping me Saturday.

It is not a big deal with a 330xi, but it is awkward. Best on a lift, or four jack stands to create enough room to access bleed valve. I couldn't get everything pinched off quickly, and ended up draining my entire clutch system. I refilled from the bottom up using a technique from a video that was referenced in the DIY section. Made it simple to refill as all the air went up into the reservoir and bubbled out. Bleed valve on mine was a 7mm.

Maybe it's different for the E46 vs. the E92. Even with four jack stands, it was pretty much inaccessible. A lift would have been the only way.

This is an old post because i did this already. I put the front up on cinderblocks and it was accessible and my bleeder valve was 7mm
