FS: L Brackets to attach e90/e92 Vorsteiner Race Hoods
A few people have asked to have the L Brackets fabricated so that you can use the lift cylinders (hood struts) from your OEM hood. The Vorsteiner hood is hollow and you can't attach the lift cylinders to it. The L Bracket allows you to attach it to the hinge, taking the weight off the hood without any stress to it. You don't have to use a hood prop or a broomstick anymore. It's a nice way of opening and closing your hood like it was built for your vehicle. Pics below were prototypes and the newer versions are finished better with rounder edges and will come with the nut needed to screw on to the ball studs of the lift cylinder. These are custom fabricated, made from strong alloy. Just $50 plus s/h. It a small amount for what you've already invested into a very nice hood, plus it just makes opening and closing your hood cleaner. I know. PM me to purchase or for more info. Thanks guys.

That's the beauty. You can use the OEM struts (that's what I have) and not necessarily the M3 struts, although it'll work with those as well. The torque of the struts is applied to the hinge and not the hood.

Bumping up and thanking those for the orders.
Big favor. If you've got yours installed, please post a pic of them installed. Really appreciate it.

So I painted them white and installed them. They work quite well but expect the hood to stick up more than stock. And to the OP be careful when drilling holes the washers almost didn't fit but with a little wiggling everything came out nice. Thanks and color coating the holes is a very nice touch I appreciate it. Highly recommend.

Thanks for posting. Yes, I want to make sure everyone knows that the hood does go higher when opened, but it doesn't hurt the hood and in fact, gives you more access room to the engine bay. And thank you for letting me know about the holes. We'll see about adjusting that from here on.
