Crappy OEM Rear Spoiler

Anyone has installed OEM Rear Spoiler?
If you have not , fcking don't.
I ordered it, got it sprayed, and this fcking spoiler is damn heavy and I heard experiences of aligning and glue it properly over the trunk was an horror !
I will give a few more days to decide whether I want it on my car before I throw the fcking spoiler into the habour.
I will consider something light made of CF. Any suggestions?

Man, I didn't think it was that heavy. My camera with case weighs more than that (I think). I've had no problems with the glue. A number of people have simply used double-sided mounting tape, which would make it easier for you to remove and change out in the future.

The aligning part would be a challenge for any spoiler you mount.

I just posted some photos of my car's new wheels, but I have some close shots of the OEM spoiler. You can see the fitment is just fine:

Thanks! Very neat photos! Locally here, the first e90 here I saw the spoiler was done to perfection with tapes. The second e90 ( I got the spoiler from the same batch as his ) I knew, had failed with double side tapes and later comnpletely restored with glue , but a little far end still pops up slightly but acceptable. These made me suspect the spoilers from this batch could be 'bended' slightly due to whatever shipment reason.
Anyway, your words are encouraging and I will visit a recommended shop tommorrow and it seems this shop guy is pretty convinced that the right 3M double side tapes should be sufficient to stable any spoilers. I will let him inspect the condition of the spoiler in real.

You mean you're going to trash it? Will your dealer not give you another one in return, since yours is defective?

Maybe the one you got was warped from heat. Bummer man. The other option might be for you to get the CF M-Tech spoiler. DTMAutohaus also has a fiberglass replica of that. It won't warp.

Yes I am serious:mad: . the spoiler is now sitting in my balcony ready to go down to the habour any time. Another garage shop has done another E90 I know with the same OEM spoiler from same batch , with strong glue needed drying for 6+ hours ( and this was the second attempt as the first attempt using tapes done by BMW had failed (pop-up). I would say the glue job actually looks ok. Okay, it can be done , but with great effort, and how long that glue job can last without the sides corners get pop up - God knows! Well, I cannot be sure if my spoiler has a minor error of the bending angles of two sides until I can compare with a good one side by side. This fkcing spoiler has already scratched the edge my trunk cover. Okay, this part is not purchased from dealer, I bought it from a local OEM parts shop, thus, the spoiler has BMW logo original packing. Anyway, fkc it , us$300 incl paint job and wasted my fkcing time , 2 mths wait, having talked to two vendors in hot days.

I will be looking for a perfect fit spoiler.

Hi

We guess the same , it could be a shipment fault. Yes, I actually always wanted the CF M-sport but I was impatience as never heard there are stock in my local shop, so I bought the oem one in a rush decision.
I will only use sticky tapes ( 3M 12mm width, 0.8mm thickness , ultra strong!) if I ever get the CF spoiler.

( I already have installed the OEM CF Lips , perfect double side tapes job done by our e90posthk chairman rd sport in less than an hr)

tks man
