Burble and Pops in DS mode on N55 335i automatic

Do all N55s (I have a 2013 e93 335i) burble and pop when coasting in DS mode (especially in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear in an automatic)? Or is this only with PPK or aftermarket exhausts?

i never got the pops and burble until i got the ppk tune in DS mode.

PPK or MHD create the pops and burble

Removing cats from the exhaust help you hear it more

Thanks for confirming, Yipronny and EB89. So the pops and burbles only occur in DS mode if you have PPK?

Stock won't do it "a lot" you will get some but PPK or MHD create a crap tonne of them

No it won't. The popping, burbles, or crackling, whatever you want to call is caused by fuel injector overrun. It's incorporated into the N55 PPK and 335is/35is (N54 PPK) on a small scale. The MHD option allows you to control the duration and amount of fuel dumped to increase or decrease the effect.

Thanks, all. I purchased a CPO 2013 335i e93 that had the PPK sticker (and I have a paper) but wanted to know if hearing the burble on overrun (but only in DS or manual mode) verified it actually has PPK.

Along with the paper and sticker I would consider it verified.
