New 335xi faster than the 335i??
I find it strange that on the Canada website they say that the 335xi is .1 second faster than the 335i. Yet the 328i is .5 second faster than the 328xi. Do you think that's correct?

I just picked up a new 335xi this weekend - non sport and steptronic. I drove a 335i not long ago, test drive. Honestly who knows which is actually faster ...but when you think about it, it will depend on the driver for the MT's and the steptronic's ability to shift for the AT's.
I will tell you that in standard Drive mode the shifts are laid back and occur before 2.5-3k rpm. Well...put it in Drive Sport mode and its a different story. I bet with the traction on the Xi and the AT it will outrun all but the exceptional MT drivers. I don't think I could shift as quickly as this AT does in DS mode...its fast. Comes down to the driver, i'm sure some could best the AT. Who knows why the sites aren't giving the same info - its just a tiny amount of time...no one would know the difference. The 335i and Xi are just fast...plain and simple! |
