Sure.
Some background: Basically I changed my brake lines and had to rebleed. My brake res went completely dry overnight and normal bleeding wasn't working. Suspected air in abs module. Abywho once you connected with your cable, open inpa, go to e90, chassis and select dynamic stability section. It will bring up a page and on the right hand side it'll have several options for brake bleeding and activating the abs pump. It's pretty cool. |

Sweet thanks.
So when you do this, did you still need two people to bleed the brakes? or is this to cycle the pump automatically and remove any air bubbles? |

As far as I know BMW dealers activate the pump and it vibrates removing air that has adhered to the walls of the DSC hydraulic unit. So I think it's automatic and you don't need a person pumping the brakes. I think this is why the dealer is always able to get pedal firmer than when I do mine with my pressure bleeder.

I used a Motive pressure bleeder just in case. It will basically tell you to go to a specific corner, crack the valve open, and a do a series of on/off on the brake pedal. You can hear the clicking of the solenoids and sounds like the computer is acting much like a second person at the bleeder valve opening/closing. ![]() Last edited by Rotorocious; 10-17-2011 at 11:51 AM.. |

Any idea what the "single test valve/pump" and "DSC pre bleeding" actually do?
This is pretty neat. Probably wouldn't need to do this if you were sure no air was in the lines, but for your case it works nicely. |

the single test just activates the pump for a couple seconds, its not nearly as loud as when you do each corner "rework" bleeding.
The re work is pretty loud and actually modulates the brake pedal while your holding it. Its kinda creepy. DSC pre bleeding just tells you go to around to each corner and bleed the brakes, it doesn't activate any pumps Last edited by Rotorocious; 10-17-2011 at 02:20 PM.. |

I have to change fluid this coming spring so I'll be using this method instead of my pressure bleeder. |

Help me understand here. So, if I want to bleed my brakes, I can just crack upen the valve at each corner and cycle the pump via INPA? Or is this just for flushing any air from the ABS module?

It's flushing air out of the DSC hydraulic unit. You still need to keep topping off the reservoir though.

Ha! just received the software discs only. When i bought it i thought it included the lead??! Not really sellers fault but they are offering to sell me a lead but think i may of wasted my money (especially as you say free to download). They say only some leads work with their software.
Will see what they say regarding price of lead?! Whats the norm ££$$$? as it happens have sorted the bleed with a pressue bleed and nice firm pedal but may still purchase for future convienience. |
