Air outlet covers and air ducts for coolers in 335is
To improve the cooling capabilities of my Oilcooler and the BMW Performance (2nd) radiator I would like to replace my air-intakes in the bumper (Mtech) with the ones of the 335is. (which would more then double the airflow to the coolers what I can see)
Does anybody know the part numbers for these parts? I cannot find a online catalog including the 335is unfortunately. Thanks. Last edited by marcel b; 08-14-2010 at 12:13 PM.. |

Sounds like a good idea!
I think you will have problems to get the parts of the 335is in Europe as the is isn't sold here. But maybe you can contact Tischer or HP Motorwerks to get you the parts. |

Indeed, I want to buy them in the States. Tischer doesn't sell to Europe (they are not allowed), but as I will travel to Ney York in 2 weeks, I could have it shipped to my hotel

it is located in front of the left front wheel (driver side). So on the right you have the oilcooler, and the left the 2nd radiator.
I have the partnumbers and the price from Tischer (Thanks to the very fast reply of them to my mail ): 51118050585 and 51118050586, front air outlet covers, 22.57 each 51748050583 and 51748050584, left and right air ducts, 48.94 each Unfortunately they are not on stock and need to be ordered from Germany, which means they will not have it on time for my visit to New York. |

This was my thinking as well and that's why I went with the M rep bumper.
Look at my sig and you'll see how much more air flow my OC and IC gets.

HI Marcel,
There are services that take care of reshipping from the states to europe. You have the shipment send to them, they repackage / put your european adress on it and they send it off. Works perfect, I ordered iphones and other stuff this way....

Just quick question will they fit with no prob on the mtech front? I thought the 335is have different front design. Also the lower center mash has two side cutt off and allow the air to flow to where oil cooler/ 2nd radiator located.

The lower center mash has two side cutt off that point to the brakes, not to the coolers, at least this is how it is with the Mtech front. I cannot imagine they have changed this. |

After a German BMW dealer told me they can not deliver the parts to me I checked with my dealer in Switzerland. They where a bit surprised as the parts did not appear in their catalog but they could order it directly from Münich, no problem. Should arrive in a week
Price of the parts was more then OK, not far of the US prices. Now let's hope they fit without any issue and bring the wished results |

What I can see just the bottom of the bumper is a bit different? the rest looks tge same. Check the holes in the normal E92 mtech bumper (with foglights) and compare withe a pre-lci. Soon we know :-)

I just go a mail from somebody who just fitted the airvents of the 335is in the pre LCI Mtech bumper. Fits one to one! (as I expected). He will fit the airducts on Monday as according to him the bumper needs to be taken off. Not sure about that...
anyway, this seems the perfect way to increase the airflow to the oilcooler (and 2nd water cooler for the people who have the powerkit). I am curious to see the impact on the temps. --> sorry, the vents do not seem to fit one to one, I was wrongly informed. The airducts should be no issue. Side by side pics of the ducts would be great.
I am 98% certain that I get better cooling with the M-aero front bumper and ducts than I did with the stock one.
