Group tinting! who's interested?

BE READY FOR THE SUMMER,
if you planned getting tint, this will be good opportunity.
Place would be N-motion in Burnaby, and we can expect some discount.
they have high reputation in tinting, and they offer lifetime warranty as well.

let's see, who's in? the more we go, the more we can get discount.

I called vancouver tint and he quoted me 575$ for all 7 windows. Chris said if we can bring a couple cars he could probably do a little better on the price.

That's a good price.

Kris did a good job on my car. I went 50% on all windows except the sunroof and front windshield. Looks nice...and looks OEM. I've had zero problems with the cops.

Spacedogg he mentioned your name when I told him a couple of people on e90post want to get it done. You have any pics of your car with the tint?

If you want to keep the heat out hyper optic is the way to go.

isn't N-motion price $190 (revscene price) for the whole windows except the windshield.
that's what I paid for my other cars...... I am going black... so it should be $190 and maybe cheaper if we can get 4-5 cars.

604_e90325i < for the $270 one, maybe it's the special tint thing
once we can gather 4-5 cars, you will get discount on that thing as well.

I am going tinting next week~ so if anyone is up! leave your name,
I will scheduel the time. I am going 50% in my driver & passanger side, and 35% in the rear, trunk

Are we talking about group buy on the "benz" tint or Huper Optik? I am more interested in HO than the blue tint. I got a similiar price quote from Kris also. Count me in if it is for HO. Looks like borsalino is interested in HO too. If this is the case, two people are interested.

As for the "benz" tint, the website mentions it is a Dyed Metalized Film. Isn't dyed film will fade and change to purple over time? The site says limited lifetime warranty.. but against what?

@e90sexion, what is that $190 revscene price you are talking about? The site lists $290.

@spacedogg, can you post a clear picture of your 50% tint. I can't decide if 30% or 40% is better. I don't like it too dark.. so I am thinking 40%.. but I have a light beige interior. So if I go for 40%, it'll make the tint look even ligher.

Other tinting place I am considering are
http://www.vantint.com/ $140 for 5 windows and http://www3.telus.net/pochacho/English.htm
There are only two places in YVR area that you can get Huper Optik tint done. Avrix in Richmond and Vancouver Tint Centre in North Vancouver.

E90Sexion is trying to setup a group buy for another place. (Oops...Danny...I seemed to have jacked your thread Sorry!) So likely this GB is not for Huper Optik.

What more clear photos do you need? I'm not sure I understand your request. I have linked to my thread which contains photos already. You can probably talk to the tint shop and they can drape samples of 40%/50%/60% tint over your window so you can see. You are right tho, since you have beige tint you can probably get away with something darker.

On the E90s, scratching occurs on the rear windows...regardless of tint. There has been some threads discussing this. Essentially, you need to install felt instead of the OEM rubber lining.

Kris could probably install the felt...he seems to know what he is doing. I would call him and ask tho.

I did not ask him to install the felt on my car.

Personally, I think doing split tints (darker in rear and lighter up front) on sedans look like ass...unless they are limos.

You can do split tints on coupe and wagons...that looks elegant. But on sedans from a cosmetic stand point, I would go with the same tint percentage all the way around. I was debating whether to go with 60% Huper Optik all the way around or 50%. In the end I decided to go with 50%.

I haven't been pulled over yet. Knock wood.

Split tint on a Mercedes B class looks good. OEM split tint is usually 30% or 35% on the rear windows...and no tint on the front and rear. You might want to get 50% or 60% on the front windows tho...

Alternatively, 50% all around will look decent...depends on what type of look you want to get. Here's a picture of 40% all around.
