Falken 452s vs Nitto NT 555
hey guys i need to buy some new tires for 19 inch wheels tomorrow. My choice is either the Falken 452s or the Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance tires.
Falkens go for about 181$ each and Nittos go for about 196$. Is Nitto the better choice? Thanks in advance. |

can't vouch for the nittos, but I have the falkens and damn, I love them. Although, it's the only tire I've tried since switching out my runflats, so... hahah. but I know a lot of guys like them. there's a thread you can search for.
btw where are you getting falkens for $180 each? I have a feeling that's just for the fronts? I'm getting quotes of $250 for each of my rears

I just went on the America's Tire/Discount Tire website tires are 235/35/19 I'm trying to get the staggered set for my wheels, I'm going to VMR to pick them up tomorrow. The rears are 275/30/19 but i can't find any tires with those specs in any shops so i think I'm going to have to go with the regular wheels.. Last edited by balance; 04-10-2009 at 12:09 PM.. |

i read some threads and it says that Nittos grip in rain isn't good at all and they say 452s are the way to go so i guess i made my decision!

Falken 452s aren't as good as PS2s, but for the price you pay it is a runaway winner!

I've had both and i hate the Nitto NT 555!
I LOVED the Falkens though. The Nitto's are loud and they don't seem to last at all! I think the falkens look better and lasted me longer. They also didn't seem as loud |

also remember that falken's have a more curved sidewall. so if you have to stretch the tires you get less to work with. i had to change my 265/30/19 to 275/30/19 because the tires didn't fit the wheel enough for me. my wheels had a width to 10inches though not 9.5. just something to consider.... ohhh and a fun picture my friend took of my "smokin hot tires"

guess its just a matter of personal taste

FK452's are great. Been running them for awhile and still love them. Also running 265's on my LC Dyna's 10in rear and there is a noticeable gap, but not that bad. Putting 5mm spacers and rolling my fenders tomorrow. Might change to 275s soon

oh no, I have the gap. It's just not a problem to me. I'm fine with it lol. are you lowered? I would think that being dropped + 275's = rubbing

Sweet! I posted to Thank the OP! but you guys gave me a peace of mind on the tires. now I'm nervous about 265 vs 275 in the rear. I ordered a 265 for V710 (9.5" rear). I hope there's no gap.

Sorry but I would have ordered a 275 instead unless you are lowered I think the 265's will look a bit stretched.

I have NT555's on my G35 coupe, the grip is just decent, however, the most obnoxious thing about it is the road noise after a while, the constant tire whine just kills it for me. I've had Fk 452 and they handle just as well, if not better than NT555 but they sure are much quieter. Good luck with your purchase.

265 on a 9.5" wheel is fine. I run 265 on a 10" wheel.
