Exhaust Advice

Well want to get a new rear trim for my 320D as the stock LCI tip is looking very tired. Plus its an excuse to mod

So far found two options

Hartge and BCS.

Not sure which while Hartge looks neeter its 500 comparing to BCS 200.

Any thoughts suggestions on these or other brands.

Be interesting to know what the rest of the forum suggest.

As, my mate had an e46 330cd and when he changed his exhaust all the soot from the exhaust would blow all over the back end of his motor - making it look really filthy...guess thats why the stock pipes are downwards facing.

Although, I have noticed that the LCI models dont have downward facing exhausts so not sure if they have changed something on the newer models to address this issue...

well soot is not an issue as have a DPF so not a problem. Only pre DPF cars had downward exhaust due to lack of DPF.

WHile the LCI does away with downward exhaust the oval trim is terrible and its not even Stainless Steel tip and in two years has become dull and pitted. Did consider jsut removing that and finding a new oval trim to cover it but these look better

The first pic looks like it has no back box, if thats the case, I'd go with that one.

Just to chuck something else in the mix - have you enquired about a bepoke stainless steel system? No idea what's available down there, but I paid less than 400 for a custom cat-back system a couple of years ago.

who did you turn to for the bespoke any firm recommendations. I like idea of removing the back box and right now its the money more than anything stops me going for hartge as the tips also look so much better.

If I could have something like this made for less be ideal

I used MIJ Performance in Walsall, purely because they're relatively convenient for me - there must be tons of other places up and down the country that would do the same.

In fact, Google turned these people up: www.exhaustssurrey.co.uk/
