Rather than bugger about with products I'm wondering if some washing up liquid (strips wax and degreases) on the affected areas might do the trick.

You will probably find that you will need to wind down the windows and apply it to the rubber where it touches the window. Worked for me.

Well it seems to have done the trick. Hopefully it will be more permanent. It has to be due to the wax. I don't know why I bothered anyway, it wasn't even a particularly good one. I've got some more Werkstatt products on the way from Polished Bliss, maybe I'll give my car a wash with something that will strip the lot off before I use them.

Further to my earlier posts the noise did indeed come back. But have a read here too. I bought the BMW product and the car has been squeak free for a while now. No doubt Carboflo or the Gummi stuff will also do the job but I played it safe. Shame you're in Malta or you could have borrowed mine.

As previously mentioned apply the product to the felt strip around the top of each door/window frame and nowhere else. See if that does the trick.

Yes, bought the BMW stuff straight from the dealer. It's a known issue and I guess that's why it was in stock.

It's a tiny bottle of lubricant with two applicators. One is a small nozzle like you'd get on a tube of super glue and the other is like a small foam pad. Apply it sparingly and slowly with the foam applicator across the felt strips. Quickly follow up with a cloth or it will run.

The felt is the only place I wiped and I think I'm about three weeks in with no noise. We've had loads of warm and then damp weather which seemed to make it worse but nothing since I applied it.

As previously mentioned, it's about £35 but since applying I haven't had any noise at all. A couple of months with a weekly wash? I also supplied some to ybt200 over in Malta because he couldn't get hold of it. He reports good results too. The trick is to apply it to the felt strips. Boyd1963 mentions the GummiPfledge stuff which I'm sure does the same job. I couldn't be arsed to go the dealer route and book it in when I was fairly sure I'd be able to sort the problem myself.

Waxing I'm sure is the 'cause' of it. Or I should say particular types of wax/sealant in conjunction with the design of the door/window seals. The noise on mine only came on after trying a wax polish. Prior and since I've only used acrylic sealants.

And if any dealer tells you they're unaware then they're talking nonsense. When I enquired about the BMW/DuPont Krytox stuff the parts guy said it was for squeaky doors and that they keep it in for workshop use.

Well a year in and I noticed the noise starting to return from the drivers window frame. Re-applied the BMW stuff and silence. I think a combination of the heat and Megs NXT shampoo but these threads need to be revived every now and again I think.
