Just wondering, is it worth it to change the cabin air filter before inspection 2?

Are you sure you have an E90? Inspection 2 ended with the E46.

+1 E90s don't have those type of inspection intervals anymore

Change it when the service light comes on, if the filter is clean and clear just reset the service:

BMW changes the micro filters when the brake flush is performed.
