Help!!!Weird thing going on with my car

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me identify this problem. Just today I noticed my car, on the highway, had random vibrations. It is not tire/suspension/wheel related I know for sure. It felt like the transmission was going to "drop" from underneath the car. Each vibration would last a 1/2 second. Sometimes it would happen multiple times back to back or just single vibration. It feels like transmission but the car shifts fine and on small roads there is no vibration (not that I noticed), just on the highway. Now I recently, almost ran out of gas but made to the station and filled up at shell with premium as usual. I've been to this station occasionally. Do you think it could be injectors due to me almost running out of gas? My dash said i had 1mile left of gas. I know that's bad but could it be something else? Oh, and no service/warning icons on my dash at all.

My guess: obstructed fuel filter

What kind of car do you drive? Miles? Guesses from me would be coil packs, spark plugs, hpfp, injectors, and maf.

Your fuel pump is about to crap on you. I suggest you fix it before you get stuck on the side of the road... This happened to my wife a month ago on a drive from Michigan to Ft Hood while I am deployed to Iraq. I thought it was an obstructed fuel filter or coils too.

In the future, try not to let your fuel go below 1/4 tank... a friend told me if you let this happen time and time again it can cause premature failure.

Thanks for including that in your post.
Fuel both COOLS and LUBRICATES the fuel pump.
Constantly running low on gas is bad for the fuel pump.
