Hey guys

I had my AR 4" Catless downpipe installed this week @ Helix Motorsports in Philly (www.helix13.com, Alex@Helix on E90Post). In addition I had a JB3 Stage 1 installed. A pleasure doing business with them, I had my BMW Performance Exhaust installed there in June too.

About the DP - it's gorgous, you can see some pics of this beauty here:

The car is a total beast now. It's very loud, maybe 1.5-2x as loud as the BMW PE by itself. Almost as loud as a supercharged M3. You can see my original BMW PE video here (includes stock comparo):

With the catless downpipe, the turbo spools a lot faster and adds another dimension to the sound. You can hear the turbo spinning/whistling all the time, it's pretty neat.
It does smell since it's catless, very noticeable when you stop w/ the windows down. So just be aware of that before you do the catless DP.
There is no drone at all with this setup, it is quiet in the cabin. If you let off the gas, it's almost silent as well.

Edit: set video to 480P/720P for best sound, I did record it with a stereo mic.

Holy shit, that is the best exhaust combo I have seen thus far!!!!!!

If I could justify the PE price, I would do it..but the price is $$$.

Thanks guys, thanks Ian. The pops+burbles are mostly from the PE; there seem to be more pops with the DP in now and they're louder too.

I have an Olympus E-PL1 camera (micro 4/3) and this mic accessory:

I clipped it to the sunroof shade and shut the shade as much as possible, worked great, very little air moving up there.

Once you start moving you just want to keep laying into the gas, the sound is just so intoxicating.

I can't wait to hear this in person. Makes me really want that AR DP even though I know I should focus on other mods first... like brakes....and suspension
