I'm not sure what the compression is on BMW Koni yellows, but on the LS1 Camaro it's actually lower than some shocks available, because it doesn't have to be that stiff. How does the compression on e90 Koni yellows compare to stock sport shocks or performance OEM shocks?

Since the rebound is adjustable, you don't have much to worry about here. As long as you adjust it correctly you can get it set to your preference.

that's a very good question. I have no idea where the fronts are set. I got used ones and forgot to set them before going to the shop. I later called and asked the shop to set them to full soft and I'd take it from there. Well, I don't think they did as the front is beautifully firm, much too firm to be full soft. BUT, the strut bar bolts are SO tight I can't loosen them to adjust for myself and see where they are set lol. I've not yet had time to get to any shop just to loosen the bolt a bit.

The rears are 1 turn from soft but I can tell I'm going to go to 1.5 turns.

Might want to give it a couple of days before you re-adjust. Mine felt a bit softer after a few days.

They were installed on Tuesday and Ive put a couple of hundred miles on them at least and I can feel the difference.

Im holding off on any more adjustments until I can get the bolts off to adjust the fronts and see where they are set. I still have no idea where the previous owner had them set.

I sure will, but I CAN tell you the car sits a bit higher. Id suspect its cause the Perf dampers were old and worn out and not supporting the car as well.

It certainly feels that the compression damping is softer than the Perf Pack. Ridges in the road are absorbed very well and much smoother. In 95% of situations Id say they are significantly better than Perf Pack.

I noticed this as well. My car sits a bit higher than it did with the old zsp shocks. Kinda bummed me out at first, but it seems to have settled a bit after a month or so.

Likely due to the springs being removed & re-installed slightly off from their original positions and needing to settle back in. Shocks have nothing to do with how high the car sits, only how fast it moves up & down, as all the weight is supported by the springs.

I dont wanna start anything, but are you saying that even if no shocks were installed on car, just springs, that the car would sit as high?

^yes, a damper will only have effect/force on your car when there is a velocity on vertical direction.

It's actually quite fascinating. All other parts of the suspension are unchanged, yet the car rides smoother but yet more firm, body control is better, cornering significantly flatter. And if you don't pop for the expensive external adjustable rears as I did, it's pretty inexpensive. My car now rides smoother and corners better than it did with PSS9s.

Cvc let me drive his car on Tuesday, and I felt the same way, that bumps were getting absorbed and made into tiny ripples. It felt distant, like the suspension was far away from me.
