Best way to lose lower stomach fat

hey guys first time posting in here but was wondering what the best way to lose that little bit of lower stomach fat is. I've started running about 2 miles 3-4 times a week but what else should i do to try and get rid of it. I don't have the healthiest of diets mainly because I have a really hectic work schedule so I'm usually missing breakfast because im out the door to work around 4:30-5 in the morning and having late lunches around 1400hrs. What would you suggest i get to eat or make myself to eat during the day?

Sorry if its confusing im just trying to get all my thoughts out quick

I may not be the best person to answer this but according to my trainer, try to spread your food intake. In my situation, i eat 5x a day instead of 3 big meals. Our body can only digest so much and the rest will just be stored. Again this is accdg. to my trainer.

Unfortunately your trainer is wrong.

OP you cannot spot target fat loss, you would need to be in a caloric deficit to lose BF. Depending on how much a deficit you're in will dictate how my LBM is lost as well.

I do not disagree with you but with all due respect sir, I do not totally agree either. I use to have a size 34 waist and gone down to 32. I lost 3 lbs of body fat and my BMI went down to 22 from 26 all in one month. Please take note that I'm working out 5x a week. Ofcourse you have to workout as well in combination with the diet. It's not good to lose weight just by starving yourself. I'm just speaking through my experiences so please don't take my word for it.

80% of midsection fat is diet...the other 20% is working out.

That's some progress! Just curious, what's your normal exercise routine for loosing body fat? Seems like it's working.

We are what and how we eat. For me, 80% depends on food intake. We can do all routines in the book and workout all we want but if we don't have discipline in the food we take everything is a waste of time. I drastically cut dowm on calories and fatty food then compensate the amount with proteins. Plus like what I've said, spread it to 5 small meals instead of 3 big ones. Hope this helps.

Based upon my own experience....

1. Diet, diet, diet......I am not saying you HAVE to eat nothing but healthy food...but guard your portion sizes and IF you have to eat at fast food joints, try to pick something more healthy....choose with your stomach fat in mind...not with your taste buds

2. Cardio...speaks for itself...cardio burns fat when coupled with diet. It has to do with how many calories you burn versus how many you take in.

3. WORK THOSE ABS(do the P90X ab-ripper every other day...only takes about 20 min or so, you can find youtube examples of it).....if you build enough muscle underneath your "Fat" it will not be as noticeable..and may actually make you look more proportional.

Those things worked for me (was doing P90X and playing soccer for cardio). I hope they work for you.

This year I made exercising my routine, so I lost like 20 lbs since January. Now things are going lot slower (fat loss wise), I'm suspecting because of a diet for the most part. But, I have no discipline when it come to food: I don't eat junk food, or bad foods, but when I eat, sometimes I just can't stop. Something I have to work on.

Is there difference between small meals and snacks? Just curious if nuts snack could be considered a meal. Garlic flavored broccoli does sound great - just how do you make garlic flavored broccoli?

As previously mentioned, its about about 80% diet, 20% training. Cardio is great, but can only do so much. Lifting weights can help as it increases your metabolism so you are burning calories even when you aren't training.

But getting back to diet, you must:
1. Never skip breakfast
2. Eat at least 4 times a day
3. Eat clean foods
4. Eliminate carbs from your later meals in the day (say meal 3 and 4)

Regardless of how busy you are, if you dont get your diet sorted out you wont lose the weight you want.

Most of it's been covered - good diet (avoid fried foods, sugary food and drinks, avoiding alcohol will help), smaller meals at regular intervals help avoid overeating and keep your stomach from bloating, and ramp up your metabolism with HIIT cardio like running intervals to optimize fat-burning.

The only bad advice I've seen here is to do additonal ab work. Working your abs isn't bad, but that won't burn off the fat covering them. Imagine a tub of lard. Now imagine a tub of lard with a brick at the bottom - it still looks like a tub of lard on the surface. You won't see the brick until you melt off the lard.

Not sure if other advice ive received around this topic is accurate but what about the cutting out of daily products from a diet in addition to cardio/ab work etc.?

You don't have to cut out dairy, it won't directly help you accomplish anything.

You can eat whatever you want, you just have to learn to count calories and keep track of your protein/carbs/fat balance. Find your BMR (google), and if you're trying to lose weight, eat below that calorie level. Eat at, for example a 40%/30%/30% protein/carb/fat diet and you'll lose weight.

You can adjust those ratios for yourself depending on many factors, but it's a good starting point. For example, if you do a lot of cardio, you'll want to up the carbs, for just losing weight/maintaining muscle, up the protein, etc.

I use the Myfitnesspal app for the iPhone to track all this, but there are plenty of resources out there. Once you get into a routine, it's not much work at all to track. Most days I don't even have to any more because during the week, my diet is pretty consistent.

You misinterpret what I wrote. Ab work in conjunction with everything else I mention will definitely show results......if you melt half of the lard instead of just seeing lard...you will see lard in the shape of a brick.....get it? Just the fact that I could see my abs coming back gave me motivation to keep it up...and I was not fat at all in the abdominal region

I constantly tell myself while at work that I'm going to get in a quick workout once I get home, but I rarely happens, I end up relaxing in front of the tv I definitely could use that extra boost of motivatation too.

losing weight is a fairly simple concept that in my opinion just has too much bullshit attached to it by fad diets

take in less calories than your body burns naturally/you exercise out

it doesnt matter if its one large meal, or 6 small meals, the body will digest it all the same and use the fats, carbs, and proteins all the same as well

trust me i know, i've lost 80lbs through hard lifting and DIETING
