Hi All,
I've been trying to do a bit of CAN sniffing on my 08 E90. I have a canbus analyzer and I have connected to pins 6 and 14 so I can see the data.

From what I have read I should be able to see the PT-CAN data but all I can see are the following messages:

C1 = Ignition ready
D5 = Engine starting
C5 = Engine running


I have tried to send a request for PID 0 in the hope that might trigger the bus into showing more data. I think the analyzer sent:
0x7DF, 0x02, 0x01, 0x00

But I get nothing not even the designated ACK with the bitfield.

Is there anything else I should be doing or something I could try ?

I am going to get a scope on the bus and see if the analyzer is actually transmitting the message, I'm sure it is as it can see the ignition status message.

Any help/insight/tips greatly appreciated.
