For those doing oil changes....

I have started seeing more E90's coming in with aftermarket oil filters, i dont know what brand they are, but they are basically disentigrating and falling apart. BMW filters dont fall apart, i know its mroe expensive, but try to use BMW oil filters, they're made from what seems to be a different material.
I do support DIY oil changes, i jsut want to put that warning out. I dont know what brand(s) these filters are.

I only use factory filter, it's like $12.. not worth going 3rd party to save a few bucks.

This is a good tip... and from a Master Tech!

For those buying somewhere other than the dealer, buy only the brands "Mann" or "Hengst" as they are the OEM supplier. Of course, you will have to ensure that you buy the correct size but you already knew that.

Check out tischer bmw for filters in the 8-9 dollar range. Also they have had a special for bulk (10) where it's less than $8 a piece and I think the shipping might be included in the bulk deal.
