Ok, I renamed the COM port to COM1. Under advanced settings for COM 1 I set receive to 1024 and transmit to 1024. However, I dont see the buffer. I have a latency timer under BM settings that I can set to 1. I'll give this a try and see what happens. Thanks for the support!

Here are a few screen shots if someone can take a look. Thanks in advance!
I am connected via USB serial port COM1 There are no FIFO buffers or receive and transmit buffers because it is a USB serial port and not a communications port. Here are the settings I have to choose from: Receive Bytes Transfer Bytes Latency Timer Minimum read timeout Minimum write timeout |

Set The Latency from 16 down to 1. And did you run the batch file and/or set environment variables as outlined in the DIY?

I now get connection but only without the adapter. It actually says the battery and ignition are ON without connecting the cable to the OBD in the car? When I plug the cable into the car the red light on the connector flashes rapidly. I still can't get the airbag test to work. It gives me a system error. |

Don't worry about airbag test. Load up NCS or contact me for remote coding possibilities

Setting RxFIFO & TxFIFO
Speedfried, I guess you haven't seen the INPA & EDIABAS FAQ DOC.
Here is a link....http://files.ka81.com/docs/INPA_FAQ.pdf. How to set FIFO buffers is explained . Here it is ...Choose the following path in the regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE System CurrentControlSet click on Services. On the right side of the window You can click on the name of the DWORd value which is defective (here RxFIFO & TxFIFO). Enter the value 8 with the base hexadecimal. Click Ok an close the regedit. Now You can start the Tool Set or INPA without an error. |

Is there any special trick to coding CIC that is different from NFRM, etc? I tried to do it a few days back and got an error which I am told was simply outdated Daten files. I've updated to v41 but haven't had a chance to test it out. I am wondering if there is anything different than the normal read, edit, save as man and write for CIC coding, such as turning of legal disclaimer.

I've never had a problem copying the contents of those two folders into the appropriate folder in NCS and overwriting any existing files, so I doubt it. But if you just keep a RAR of the software package around you'd always be able to restore to original files if needed anyway.

1. Make sure you're coding BC_DIGITAL_V_KORREKTUR, and not BC_V_KORREKTUR. 2. The true speed is shown by switching it to nicht_aktiv, i.e. disabling the "corrector".

You're looking in the KOMBI trace, not the full car trace, correct? If so then if it's aktiv you should be able to cycle through various views with your BC button and see the V= screen; make sure the engine is running when you test. If you still don't have it then try putting the config into the MAN file as-is and code again, or maybe update your daten?
