Seems pretty cool for those who want performance without the warranty worries.

Of course for those not worried about warranties, there are much more potent options for similar or less money.

The price for the kit seems OK, but the installation is what kills the whole thing.

msrp for the powerkits should include labor since the only way to get the software is for dealer flash.

its not like u can walk in and buy the software for self install.

c'mon BMW !!!

So both offer the same increase in hp and tq while the Stage 2 offering better cooling. My question is why Stage 2? I understand from the tuner perspective I'd want to have the cooling parts so tune it BEYOND the advertised power levels but that's for people who want to go beyond the Stage 2 power levels. For an average joe, what would be the defining factor to pay $500 more?

It'd be real nice if they come up with a similar kit for the 1M.

Anyone know how much the installation costs? Or how much they have been quoted for this kit?

I agree that labor will kill this option.

His price included installation. I bet anything that the dealer will charge at least 1 hour of labor to install the version 1... so that will be $600 + ~$140 = $740.

something tells me dealers will charge more than an hours worth of labor.

I don't think they would charge more than 2 hours of labor. So thats still less than $1k

So after installation costs, this comes out to close to $800, for which you can have a Cobb Ap that can be installed and uninstalled within minutes and produces at the very least 60 hp more.

No thanks but I'll pass as well.

I honestly think BMW is following their modern game of underrating cars. When since does a stock N54 put out 300hp at the crank? How about that new M5. A lot doesnt add up. They quote the faster acceleration times being identical even though one car gets twice the torque gains??

Not that upset. $600 + $250 = $850.

Paid $287.50 more, and got to enjoy it earlier.

So... with this announcement what do I do?

Since I purchased it within 30 days, I'll just call BMW NA and see if I can get my $287.50 back.

I like the idea of the cooling devices, but has anyone used it with COBB Tune?

I have a little question here...
Why is the Performance Brake System not availble for 335i?

My 135 already does this and I LOVE it!

I am waiting on my 2011' 335xi Sedan. They quoted me $1350+tax ($1500) for just the tune. I wonder if I drive over to Buffalo if I can get it done there under warranty?? They were not willing to budge on the price..I wonder if the price will be reduced in Canada?
