Best rule of thumb I can offer. RULE #1: NEVER try to buy a car that costs more than your yearly salary.
That's spending way too much on a car, IMO. In my book, never exceed half of your yearly salary. You bring home 90K$/yr? Then buy a max. 45K$ car.

Can't seem to make it happen with price/mile driven at work/ up keep, etc. Dodge Charger V8 is the closest I got. and the problem there is I only like the new style ones and those are very expensive right now. Not to mention the MPG's on even the V6 stink for work. Fuel comes out of my job budget(s).

I don't think I could let my car go for less than $26. reasonable if I am going to attempt?
Wow - glad you liked the Z4 idea! Anyway - I think your last post regarding keeping both and splitting the drive is the most logical if you can afford to keep the car. Your other car is pretty much covered by work so it's a freebee. If you like the BMW and enjoy driving it, can afford to keep it, then enjoy life and drive the heck outa it when you do take it.

So if I make 5 million a year I can buy a 2.5 million dollar car?

^ Dave ramsey dude. 50% of salary on a Junk (Junk= cars+motorhome+Motorbikes+ATV's+Boats etc). Never have more than half your income wrapped up in stuff going down in value. I'd calculate it after the govt robs you (post tax).

Here's an idea. Why not mod the MKZ. Stillin makes a nice sport suspension for the Fusion that will bolt right into the Lincoln. Do a +1 or +2 wheel swap. And maybe some Recaro's

Sweet. I didn't know they made any aftermarket parts for the MKZ. The MKZ is actually a really nice car. That might be the way to go. ^.
