New E92 M Coupe with rare combo...

Well I couldn't find any pics previously....!

Its SG with Coral Red and burr walnut...had the aluminium previously and it didnt feel "special" enough for me so decided to get woody this time....

I'm pleased with it (so don't car what anyone else thinks!).

Spec. is

320i MSport Auto (UK Spec.), SG, Coral leather, Burr Walnut, C.Comf Screen, Elec mem seats, Front Seat Heating, Rain sensor and light activation, DAB radio, Bluetooth prep, Sun Protec. Glass.

Chris, looks absolutely great. A risky combination of colours and trim on paper but it works very well.

Nice car.

How does the 320i drive?

I'm considering an E92 for my next car and on paper the 320i looks worthy of consideration given the constant rise in fuel costs and punitive changes in car tax for anything with high CO2 emissions.

Is the car fast enough?

Does it sound good?

Does the auto suit it or is it constantly hunting gears to keep the engine on the boil?

I'll be a while before I change cars but I'm interested in these things. Oh and before anyone says 'get a diesel' I've got a 320d E91 and, great though it is, every time I push 'start' I wish I'd bought a petrol.

I've got the step on my 335i. It's really good. I was in 2 minds when I ordered it, but i'm glad I did now. I don't find mine hunting for gears.

The normal mode, sport mode and manual mode all seem to work really well. It's so much easier through traffic with the manual & there's always the paddles for when I want to play.

I was deciding between the i & the d. So glad I went 'i' after pressing the start button in my 320d loaner.

Hi

Well you are in exactly the same position as I was.......and what you say about pushing the start button is exactly how I felt!!

The 320d has great mid range oomph, and I can't see the 320i matching that....even when its loosened up. But its not exactly underpowered. And the fact that I could specify the auto and not be penalised on the emissions was a big plus.

Sound is quiet so far.....its no 6 cylinder but its waaaay better than the 320d (for me).
Sorry I can't really give you any better feedback yet but its very early days.

But, if you're looking for a good deal in your area I can definitely point you in the right direction!!

Re the colours, obviously its a personal thing, but I'm happy with it.....and everyone who see's it in the flesh thinks it works.....and the walnut definitely makes it feel a lot more special than the aluminium trim imo

Red interior is the best. Car looks great. Nice! I love the M Tech Steering Wheel.

As long as you love it, thats the main thing - Never been a wood fan myself, and against the red leather, for me, it really doesnt work

Interesting. I actually specified aluminium trim on my SE because I felt it complemented the red leather and made the interior feel more like a sports coupe should feel! Special!

The wood trims just don't do it for me. Each to their own, of course and if you're happy that's all that should matter.

Personally I reckon piano black trim would look best with red leather, or I'd have black leather with the wood trim.

....that was the other option....but I really couldnt see it lasting very well with 2 kids in and out the car!!!

Sure, aluminium is sporty'ish.... but then mine is a cruiser!!

Btw, have had a chance to extend the engine a little and I'm quite impressed and not got near the redline yet!!! Smooth and powerful. Mid range "in gear" is only place I will miss the 320d.
