ESS is considering making a SC kit for the N52!

While the idea of a supercharger is insanely tempting and awesome and I would totally down my money for an ESS SC kit if it's available, I have some questions regarding the characteristics of a SC kit.
Is it possible to make the SC as quiet as possible? I have seen some ARMA SC videos and they sound awesome but with the obnoxiously loud BOVs and whine I think they just might attract the wrong kind of attention... So, thus my question. Any opinions? |

You will alway hear the charger spool up, but it is possible to not have the loud bov.

Their BOV is set to vent atmospherically. This is the case with most aftermarket BOVs. If you know how to adjust them you can set it to vent back into the system. Most manufacturers like BMW, Subaru, Mitsubishi have their BOVs set to vent into the system. That's why you don't hear it from the 335, STi and the Evo. Hope I didn't insult anyone's intelligence.

just tlked to ESS tuning, they are still on the fence (50/50 as they say). They are certainly considering it and they told me that if they do undertake any production, they would let us know. I asked him what a possible ETA could be, and he said if they choose to produce the SC kit, they would begin work over the winter months and possibly release it spring time...WOULD BE FREAKING AMAZING!

Found out that VF too is considering a supercharger for our cars.
This came from a vendor that works very closely with them. Maybe I'll email them this thread to show the interest if they haven't found it already.

So will this SC kit work for both automatic and Manutal? If not, I would suspect that an additional tranny cooler would be needed as an SC will generate a considerable amount of heat and might/will burnout sensors within an automatic transmission...

probabaly only good for manual tranny with upgraded clutch if you want serious power increase. last time I had my gti chipped, stock clutch went slip right out of the shop.
