Anyone know what the trick is to getting the damn frosted lens back in place? I cant seem to get both the front and black to click back in. Only one or the other will go no matter how hard i press.

so i just installed interior led's from sonictuning, and did exactly those steps. long story short map lights were working but dome lights weren't, so i was like hey i'll just replace the fuse in the end. so my last led to install was the trunk ones, while using my pry tool i guess i shorted out the bulb and it blew. so anyways i put the led's in the trunk and put everything back to place. then go to change fuse #51 out. yes it was blown so i changed it out and then every lights are working properly except my center domes front and rear and my map lights front and rear. what can i do to fix this?!? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP

ok new update. i did fixed the dome lights to work again. its cuz i didn't do the whole polarity check thing and switched them around. but now both my front and rear map lights are not working now? =( HELP HELP HELP

okay, so i'm giving up for a few hours this is irritating me and i have somewhere to be...

I can't get the front and rear dome lights to work.

I checked the fuses (all of them fine)
I've tried reversing polarity (multiple times)

-When i hit the botton, all of the other lights come on, i.e. the footwell and door panel lights work fine... but the done lights refuse to work

I searched this thread as well for answers and tried those (like pushing harder in, jimmying the connection around - nothing)

Please help!

Who's kit did you buy? Are you installing with key out of the ignition?

You can test the lights by applying a 12v power and a ground source to see if the lights are simply broken.

I've tried turning the car on as well... they don't turn on. I bought the Kit from E92-lighting.com... the DIY link actually brought me to this thread.

What's the easiest 12v source to apply to them?

Battery and ground.

If it ends up not working out for you we offer a full replacement interior kit that is the brightest whitest solution as well as error free/problem free. Not to mention great customer service.

First of all, i'd like to say, it's not necessary for you to pull back your sunroof lining in order to get to the bulbs. You can just take off the clear cover protecting the bulbs... the get to the map lights, just inclip the black housing around them as well. -easy access and clips all back together easily (i did this with success and no hassle)

Fig.1 This shows how it looks when you take it out of the box. The problem is the pins are too close together and they don't touch the 12v source in your dome light in order to complete the circuit.
Fig. 2 This shows what you should do in order to complete the circuit. This is tried and true and will keep you from getting frustrated at your lights. ^__^ Shown in green is if you feel like taking an extra step, you actually wrap the pin around the side for an even more secure fitting. I had to do this because i have subs in my car and i'm afraid i'll end up rattling the connection loose.
And always check for the circuit! (third picture shown below)
ALSO! If for some reason you tried troubleshooting before with no results and you think your other map lights stopped working, try pulling the fuse (see your fuse box layout) and plugging it back in [you should hear electronics reset in the car]. Then hit the button - should work

Very nice and detailed guide. Just replaced all my interior lights with the kit I got from e92-lighting. The front dome took me a while to get out though, because it was so difficult to get my hand inside to unhook the thing.

the very few times where I am happy that I have small asian hands hahaha

did my install tonight on 2011 320d. The blown fuse is 77 on this car for those that inevitably blow it. having a little trouble getting into the map lights with sunroof - will try again tomorrow

let me say i was extremely apprehensive about this install. mostly because the khoalty kit i purchased from e92lighting didn't come with much (diagram/key wise). and the picture on their website didn't look like my parts at all. on top of that, it seemed like everybody was having one problem or another either with install or operation...

but i handled it!

also, i didn't take the front dome off. i just took the frosted cover off & then took the little black housings for the map lights off too. (be careful here because a flathead or pic could damage the black housing, the frosted glass will only cover the mirror if you damage that)

i did take the rear dome off & this ate up the bulk of my time because i couldn't get the dome light to seat properly...but i just kept messing with it and after about 20 mins of unplugging and replugging & messing with the two little pins it finally worked.

everything else was very straight forward. didn't blow any fuses. no flickering. very pleased with the color, too. very white. some better instructions would have helped and i would have installed it 6 months ago when i bought it.

Installed this kit on my 08 335xi today. It took about 40 minutes to complete the install and it was worth it. No issues what so ever. For the front dome lights, I started following the "how to" by taking the sunroof approach but I felt like I was going to tear something. Taking the sun visor clips off was the way to go. Once they're off, there's plenty of room to pop the clips off from behind. Thanks for that tip. All in all....the lights look great....thanks e92-lighting.

Just as a precaution, is it a safe bet to just unplug all all the housings before swapping the lights, and then plugging it back in to check for polarity? I know the DIY says to only do this for the glove/trunk lights, but just to be safe, should i do it for all the lights?
