My E92 is ALIVE AGAIN!!!! + pics of red leather

Today I got a call (unexpectedly) from BMW to say my new fuel pump had arrived (after 4 weeks) and been fitted, and, the car was ready!!!

I didn't take any pics before hand so here's some hope you like.

The only bad news is since I've picked it up from the dealer, although they've fixed the fuel pump and repsrayed the boot due to a crap first job now my seatbelt handover doesn't work on the drivers side LOL for god's sake Beema - get it sorted!!!

I think the belt handover jobby seems to be a bit on the flimsy side. I wonder how many will be broken off when the cars get older and people start abusing them more

I always liked the seat lifter handle on the E46 coupe. It done a great job of holding the seatbelt.

Looks good. Love that black.

It looks as though I might get a brand new coupe on Monday as part of my ongoing saga so it'll be interesting to see what that's like.

The E92 I test drove had same issue - belt handover is piss poor quality. Beancounters won that battle.

I broke my seatbelt handover last night, it came out, missed the belt which was snagged on something on the seat, grabbed it on the way back and couldn't close properly... So it was almost closed but it was still in belt grab mode and wouldn't retract all the way.. It then wouldn't work at all..

The way I fixed it was to gently pull the mechanism out as far as I could, grab the first part of the telescopic arm and put my hand against the belt grabbing bit and pushed until it clicked back in. Next time I put the ignition on while in the seat, both hand overs started up, the broken one clicked back into it's grove and all was well again on the good ship three three five..

I'll have a go at the "gentle pull" technique but I took it to beema again today and they had it for an hour and couldn't fix it so it's booked back in next Friday lol. It'd be great if I fixed it b4 then though! The handover does seem a little flimsy - just glad I haven't got any kids (yet) swinging off the damn things!!

I've also just received my AutoGlym Life shine kit so once it's shined up even more I'll wack up some more pics!!

I wonder if there is any hidden menu/switch to just switch the damn things off!!
Could probably just whip out a fuse or something.

Lovely motor!

I'll ask the same as I did on another thread - how does the 320i perform?

I'm also interested to hear how it does on fuel economy. No doubt it gets nowhere near the claimed 44mpg, but is it likely to get to the high 30's (my old 318Ci 2.0 did about 34mpg on average)?

Well, it's only done 3000 miles but the economy is great if you're easy on the gas, I've just driven to Wakefield today and the average was 45mpg!! ok, I took it nice & easy but hey you can't complain at that!! When you hammer it obviously it has a negative effect and drinks the fuel but to be honest, I drive it 50:50 and and the average is around 37mpg! It does make a great noise considering it's only a 4cyl. The only down side is the smoothness, it does seem to be a little lumpy sometimes when accelerating - could this be down to the crap fuel pumps they're using??
