Need to replace my Brake Sensor?
I just purchased the Stoptech Stage 2 Brake Kit from **********s which includes the F&R rotors, F&R brake lines, F&R brake pads, and three bottles of brake fluid. But that doesn't include the brake sensor. I wonder if I need to purchase a set of 4 brake sensors if I replace my current OEM brake hardwares with **********s brake kit.
Please give me some advice. 10/21//2011 Update: I just replaced my brake pads front and rear, but didn't replace the brake sensors. However, I still have "Brake Pad replacement" (service requirement) on my dash board. How do I renew the miles of my brake pad on the dash board? Through replacing brake sensors or through coding (Autologic) ? Someone please help me. Last edited by kahoho1; 10-21-2011 at 09:48 PM. |

I don't quite understand what it means if my sensor has gone off. How do I check it myself before I take my car to the auto shop? If my break sensor has gone off, will I see a warning light on the dash board or on the "Check Control Message"? Normally, are the people who bought the Stoptech brake kit from **********s just fine to replace their brake kit without replacing the brake sensor? Sorry for too many questions. Just want to make it clarified. Thanks

If you have not gotten a brake error light, your sensor is still intact and can be used with the new setup. Otherwise, you can buy sensors for roughly $15 each. There is one for the front and one for the rears.

If ONE of the brake sensore has gone off either front or rear, would the error message say to replace both? Because i had the message bad brakes go off for both rear and front at the same time and i find that a weird coinsidence. I havent replace yet.
What do you think?
